Edwardian 18K Yellow Gold and Diamond Buckle Ring, Circa 1909
Edwardian 18K yellow gold and diamond ring. A starburst around each diamond, this Edwardian buckle ring wraps the finger in a broad band of 18k yellow gold, complete with a tongue, a keeper loop, and a softly rounded buckle frame. The buckle was a favorite motif of the period, a symbol of fidelity and the bond between two people. Two diamonds are set flush into the band, each one nestled within a crisp, pointed star. Hallmarked in Birmingham, England, the ring dates to 1909. The polished, sculptural gold gives the design a rich glow from every angle.
